W0CG (top) and N8NR getting ready to raise another section on the 55G tower. We built this entire 100 foot Rohn 55 tower in a day on Monday, 2 July 2001.

N8BJQ's moonshot. Here is the Signal Point tower farm, complete on the evening of 2 July 2001. The original PJ9JT tower and tribander, center, is dwarfed by the new stuff.

The farm as viewed looking east, with the delapidated Sunset Waters maintenance building in the foreground.

The 40 yagi in its pre-launch position.

We took W6QHS's advice to heart and beefed up this yagi to the letter of his book, including dumping the Cush Craft boom-to-mast mount in favor of a Hy-Gain mount and MUCH bigger hardware.

The two 205CAS yagis awaiting their turn on the tram line, with the 38 foot boom 15 yagi in the background.

We doubled the plate for the 40 driven element and stuffed the boom with dowel rod, then pinned the whole thing with a 1/4 inch stainless bolt.

Leaving nothing to chance, the feedpoint for the 40 is doubled, using both the through-boom bolts and the blue pigtails attached to pipe straps on the driven element.

W0CG and N8NR persuading the 40 yagi into position at 105 feet.
