Notes on CCC Rotor 4
July 2003
Was in service on US/JA tower from July 2001 until July 2003. Direction indication is unusable -- pegged full scale. Sent to CATS 26 July 2003 for re-work and quick-disconnect. This was previously a Ham II, and CATS rebuilt it with new pot, new suprs and bushing kit, a super wedge, and new brake housing, and added quick disconnect. Received 3 September 2003 from CATS, fully rebuilt.
September 2003
Rebuilt rotor transported to Curacao by W0CG.
26 March 2009
This rotor installed in US/JA tower. Worked fine. Was painted immediately with coat of epoxy primer.
1 March 2012
Rotor turns but is free-wheeling. Brake can be heard cycling but does not lock. Will replace tomorrow with Rotor 7.
2 March 2012
Removed from US/JA tower to be returned to States for repair.
18 May 2012
Gave rotor to Goose at Dayton to send to CATS for repair. He said he would pay the repair costs.
2 September 2012
Goose took it to Findlay Hamfest and dropped with CATS for rebuild. He will get CATS to ship it directly to WI9WI to take down for CQWW SSB in October.
December 2012
W8AV received it from CATS and shipped to W9NJY.
