Notes on CCC Rotor 1

Donated by Hillar, N6HR, and rebuilt by CATS with quick disconnect. Installed on Eur tower July 2001 by N8NR and W0CG.

June 2006

Returned to Curacao inventory after rebuild

24 October 2014

Installed on US/JA tower by W0CG in an attempt to get enough torque to turn the stiffening thrust bearings. Had to cut off about 2cm from the bottom of the mast to get this larger rotor to fit in the space. Rotor works perfectly but there still is not enough torque to turn beyond north moving clockwise.

KB7Q reports that it only rotates in a 30 degree arc in the NW.

19 October 2019

Removed from US/JA tower by W0CG. Brake was stuck off and rotor was free wheeling. Taken to Idaho for possible repair by W0CG in house.

Shipped from Idaho to CATS Kentucky for rebuild. Craig will ship it back to me in Idaho.

Packed in W0CG garage for October ocean shipment to PJ2.

Arrived at PJ2T and inventoried and stored on WBR top left shelf rear.
